Reliability

Refex based pH sensors have an operational lifetime far exceeding traditional porous barrier technologies. 12 years of operational use in water treatment show that each Refex sensor lasts at least two years, typically at least four times as long as traditional equivalents.

The ISO9001 certified quality control procedures used at Refex's Ireland manufacturing facility include testing of all sensors at multiple stages in the construction process to guarantees extremely low on-arrival and in-service failure rates.

This long lifetime allows operators to realise savings in operational downtimes caused by replacement and repair.

Accuracy

Refex based pH sensors provide highly accurate pH measurement. Due to the large electrochemically active surface area and its solid-state nature this accuracy is maintained even in conditions where it is traditionally difficult if not impossible to maintain accurate pH measurement such as cold low-ionic water where Refex still maintains an impressive accuracy of +/- 0.01pH. In addition to high levels of accuracy, Refex delivers extremely fast near-instantaneous response to pH changes.

This fast response and accuracy allows operators to realise savings in areas such as dosage chemicals by tightening control loop constraints and eliminating measurement, and thus dosage, overshoot.

Stability

Refex based pH sensors provide a revolution in measurement stability. By allowing an electrochemical connection to the internal half cell without resorting to a porous junction Refex avoids the problems that plague traditional pH reference electrodes.

By eliminating the porous junction in favour of an advanced electrochemically active sensor body Refex provides unmatched measurement stability. 12 years of operation use in the water treatment industry consistently shows that Refex sensors suffer minimal signal drift over their two year operational lifetime. Compared to the weekly recalibration required by many pH sensor installations Refex based sensors only require a confirmation check every 90 days.

This excellent measurement stability allows operations to realise large savings in operational and manpower costs associated with constant sensor checking and recalibration.
